SHEETAL ROY
Associate Partner / Syska Hennessy Group, Inc.
Sheetal is an Electrical Engineer with 20+ years of experience in the built environments. Throughout her career she has designed and managed projects in various market sectors including high rise buildings, mixed-use developments, industrial buildings, tenant fit-outs and retail spaces.
What motivates Sheetal daily is working with her team and clients to create spaces and environments that the end client can enjoy. Seeing a client live or work in the space is truly rewarding.
Recently she completed an 1M square foot ground up industrial distribution center in Dallas, TX for a large industrial client. This is their 6th facility and there was an added challenge of coordinating a large, automated picking storage system. As the MEP project manager she was the bridge between the client, architect and MEP team to ensure the project was a success!
In her free time she enjoys travelling, good food, laughs with friends and family and spending time with her 2 little boys!
Tell us why you choose to be a member of PWC Chicago. I think it's an amazing platform for women in our industry to connect and grow together. There has not been anything like this before, where we can all work together, create amazing things and lift each other up.
What PWC Events do you enjoy attending? I love the socials and panel events, but I really enjoy the smaller meetings like the Member Connects and the recently added Professional Development courses. This creates a networking environment that is more intimate.
Tell us about when or how you became interested in a career in the AEC industry. I knew I wanted to be an engineer, but I didn't know what I would do with that degree. I happened to fall into the built environment, which is a blend of technical engineering and consulting clients that fits well with my personality.
What advice do you have for other women in the industry? Keep working hard and demanding your place at the table because you deserve to be there.
